Fish the Fly Guide Service

Social media, especially Instagram, has proven to be a significant marketing channel for fly fishing guides. Some guides have built their businesses almost exclusively on Instagram.

The owners of Fish the Fly, looking for new avenues of growth, sought out marketing help and brought me on to manage social media. While they had an active social media presence, it needed strategy, consistency, and higher-quality content. From there, I have also executed B2B marketing initiatives, as well as recently taking on PPC advertising.

With a limited budget, our social media initiatives have been 100% organic. I execute all content creation (outside of old content and content guides get while working), copywriting, and post-production. Fly fishing being a tight knit community, I spend a lot of time interacting. This has brought on new followers, including big names in the fly fishing industry.

+50.2% increase in total following

+11,000% increase in website clicks via IG​ (126 total clicks, not that crazy)

+339.13% increase in reach

Concierge pricing/information sheet

Having close relationships with local concierges is crucial. After visiting every concierge to discuss services for another brand I was marketing for, I noticed all of them had a binder of pricing/information sheets local companies had given them. Not a single sheet had been branded well. Hardly any logos, color, photos, etc. Just black and white sheets with basic information.

Creating brand-forward information sheets that stand out in concierges' binders has become one of my first steps in local B2B marketing initiatives. I am still in the process of trying to quantify the exact increase in bookings from local hotels and travel agents, the brands I have done this for have reported significant increases.
